Project Monitoring Week 3

3
21stJan
1 I won’t be in this lesson due to a modeling schedule for another photo shoot for another magazine.

2 Due to exam commitments I will not be in attendance for this lesson.

3 Import my article on in design for Fundraising 101, start importing images. Hopefully by this stage the font for the header will have already been added in

4 Project Monitoring & working on the Fundraising article. Hopefully I will be able to add in a break out box at this stage.

Homework 1: Writing the article for ‘Dos and Don’ts of Teen Holidays’ and checking my article plan to make sure I know what I want to achieve in this article.

Homework2: I will use this homework as spare time I will use for contingency, incase writing my article goes over.

Homework 3: Work on the in design work for Fundraising 101. I will use this homework time as contingency time so I can finish off the first draft of this double page spread this week.

This week I tried to catch up with my schedule plans I didn't finish last week. I tried to locate shops in which I could buy the props I need for my photoshoot however I have been unsucessful in some aspects. but have located items at home that I have that could be used in the photoshoot.

I have started to put together the article for Fundraising 101. I have changed the articles with the corrections I recieved off my assesor and have imported it into the document.I will import the rest of the images to finish off the article when I have gethered them from home, as this week I had lost my memory stick and have struggled with the imagery. I will e-mail them to my college e-mail address next week so that I can finish off the article. I hope to be able to work on this in my own time next week as extra homework.

I have written the 'Dos and Don'ts of Teen Holidays' article and sent it off to my assesor. I have also set up the indesign template for my work, and added in the titles.

Project Monitoring Week 2.

2
14th Jan
1 Due to exam commitments I will not be in attendance for this lesson.

2 Start writing the article for the article ‘Fundraising 101’. I already have the imagery for this so it seems appropriate to start it before the next article.

3 Carry on writing the article for the fundraising article; I will show this to my assessor and make corrections to it.

4 Project Monitoring & I will use this time to start setting up the in design document for ‘Fundraising 101’. I will be setting up the margins etc.

Homework 1: I will need to visit the shops in my own time to buy the props I need for my photo shoot.

Homework 2: Book photo shoot, equipment and a computer for my photo shoot. I will have to remember to bring my call sheets and the photo shoot plan so that the lighting assistant will know what to bring to the shoot.

Homework 3: Meet with models and personnel to sort the specifics about the photo shoot; make sure they come to the photo shoot at the right time and that they know what to wear/bring if anything.

This was my schedule plan for this week, and so far I have written the first draft of the fundraising 101 article and have shown it to my assesor for feed back. After recieveing the feedback I have made the necessary changes to the article ready to be assesed for a second time.

After making the changes to the first draft I set up InDesign so that it would be ready for the article to go in.
I set up a new document of 3 pages in inDesign and then, after setting up the collumns and the margin guides, I started adding in the title, and some of the images and then the body of the article.

This means that I am ahead of schedule as reguards the article and the InDesign work. However the homework tasks have been difficult to accomplish this week due to bad weather, but I have booked my photo shoot for the 29th of January at 9:10 am. I have met with both of my models and worked through the call sheet with them for this. They both have a copy of the call sheet, and therefore know what time to arrive at the location and what to wear or bring with them.

Photo Shoot Plan:

I will need a lighting assistant, photographer, make up assistant and a model.
The studio has been budgeted for three hours so for this shoot I will need a photographer, lighting assistant and models for that time. I will also need a makeup artist for 30 minutes before the shoot and 30 minutes half way through.

I will be dressing my models in shorts and a vest top, as this connotes holiday clothing and therefore will set the topic for my article. One of the models clothes will be ripped, to connote the ‘don’t’ side of teen holidays. I will also change the models make up; smudging it so that the model appears to be ‘rough’ again going with the ‘don’t’ theme of this image. This will heavily contrast to the other image opposing it that will show a freshly made up model

I will be using a white backdrop for both so that I can edit this out on the computer and text wrap my article around the pictures.

I will need a white backdrop, key light and fill light. I may also use a gold reflector so that the model will look less pale, as sometimes the lighting can wash the models colour out.
I will be using all of this equipment so that I can use the paramount (or butterfly) lighting technique.
This is an example of the type of lighting I would like to achieve in my image.

Possible Poses for the first image:

For the second image I may try poses with one hand on the models head: to suggest headache, distress and regretful.
